Reported by Gamasutra, Greg Canessa has left his cozy confines at Microsoft so he can continue his legacy of overpromising and underdelivering at PopCap. One can only hope Xbox management realized how he ran one of the cornerstones of its online strategy near the point of no return – what I thought, at least – and finally decided to do something about it.

Here’s to 2007, and may the lulls of the release calendar be filled by the bountiful harvest that is Xbox Live Arcade.
