Yesterday I vented my frustrations regarding the Xbox Live Video Marketplace and the woefully inadequate hard drive, specifically around my experiences downloading Superman Returns in HD.

Well, in perusing the available content I noticed Superman Returns is no longer offered in HD, only SD. I don’t think this has as much to do with the size of the file as much as some of the problems people have been having with video playback, as stated on the Xbox forums. It’s a good thing I didn’t have this problem, as it would have soured my experiences that much more.

Like I said yesterday, the service is awesome, when it works. But so far, there have been way too many headaches for us paying consumers to stick with it in the long term, much like Xbox Live Arcade. Perhaps it’s Aaron Greenberg‘s or Scott Henson‘s fault, as these problems are all happening consistently throughout Microsoft’s umbrella of Xbox products and services under their watch.

Regardless of who is at fault, someone needs to take the blame and step up to make things right.
